it’s friday, february 23, & moon is in leo, in the starspace called magha, where it’s going to be full as full (with five planets aspecting it!) just before dawn tomorrow morning, & from telluride, where i am, already looks exactly like this pic (but not blurry)—no joke! leo vibrates with the frequency of our sovereignty & of the divine masculine. it’s where we step into our roles as leaders & protectors & providers, shine as brightly as possible—not for our ego’s sake, but as a shining example to inspire others to do so as well. have you been getting those emails with the subject line “run for something”? leo’s ruler, sun, opposite in aquarius, sign of the collective, reminds us to use our power for the greater good of all, like a righteous politician would.
saturn is in aquarius emphasizing the root chakra, moon in leo the third-eye chakra. this creates a polarity seeking harmonization between earth & spirit, between materiality & higher consciousness, between reality & our vision, our soul’s desire & the practical action steps necessary to realize it.
magha is ruled by the pitris, our ancestors, all those who came before us & bushwhacked the path so we can be more than they were able to be. magha empowers us to honor our forebears & to heal ancestral karma by being all we are meant to be. magha is symbolized by a throne, the seat of the lion (simhasana), & invites us to ask whether our ego or our soul nature is taking the seat, sitting on the throne, ruling our life.
besides saturn’s gaze on the full moon, jupiter is sending inspiration, mars is firing us up with courage & mercury is helping us with the self-inquiry.
the new moon two weeks ago (in capricorn, in the starspace called dhanishta) instigated our work for this lunar cycle, asking us to start creating our new reality. the full moon gives us a kick in the butt to complete that work, for which we can take inspiration from maharishi mahesh yogi: “the most important thing is this: to be able, at any moment, to sacrifice what we are for what we could become.”
oh, & friday is venus’ day, so let’s not forget to be in the flow of love while we do our moon work, b/c there is no greater gift than love, & the gift is found in both giving & receiving!
