it’s friday, may 12, & moon moves from capricorn into aquarius this afternoon while being supported & transported by the starspace called dhanishtha. while capricorn vibrates with the frequency of getting serious about our personal lives, aquarius, where moon will be over the weekend, vibrates with the frequency of taking responsibility for the world around us, asking not what our country can do for us but what we can do for our country, b/c, let’s face it, we are all connected & we can hardly rely on the government.

capricorn invites us to take positive action steps to achieve our personal goals, aquarius to achieve the change we want to see in the world. what does that mean for you?
dhanishtha means “wealthiest” & has the power to give abundance & fame, to make us the center of attention among our friends & peer groups. its alternative name, shravishtha, suggests integrating what we heard yesterday. its symbol is a drum, suggesting that we should be hollow, receptive, like a drum. putting all of that together, the message of this asterism is that by getting our ego out of the way & being an instrument, we will create abundance. or maybe it’s just to make music!
it’s the eighth lunar day, the eighth phase of the waning moon, which, like dhanishtha, is ruled by the vasus, the creative forces of the universe, so do i need to say that it’s a great good day to get cracking to create abundance, whatever that means for you?
friday is ruled by venus, who is the part of us guided by who & what we love. when keats was head over heels for fanny brawne, he wrote to her: “i have been astonished that men could die martyrs for religion — i have shudder’d at it — i shudder no more — i could be martyr’d for my religion — love is my religion — i could die for that — i could die for you. my creed is love and you are its only tenet.” i’m not suggesting that we martyr ourselves for love, & that wouldn’t make venus happy either, but venus does invite us, encourage us, to be in the flow of love, to not shrink from who & what our heart wants.
