it’s monday, september 4, & moon is in aries, in the starspace called bharani. aries vibrates with the frequency of beginning again, starting over, of having a beginner’s mind. a beginner’s mind is a blank slate, infinite possibility, the sky’s the limit. it’s like the first day of school, when we are open to receiving, excited to learn, where we courageously take bold steps forward b/c we can.

can you step boldly forward with curiosity, with the intention to learn?
bharani is ruled by yama, the lord of restraint, of death, death being the ultimate restraint, right? yama brings discipline & sacrifice, sometimes involuntary sacrifice, like when we have to sacrifice a goal b/c it didn’t work out the way we’d planned. this asterism has the power to take things away (um, destroy/kill them), b/c they’ve fulfilled their purpose, & brings a lesson about the consequences of our bold action steps, which might look like missteps in retrospect but were necessary, b/c we wouldn’t learn whatever lesson we were meant to learn otherwise. yes, sometimes we have to take one step back to take two steps forward, but it’s all about moving forward, about our continued evolution.
it’s the sixth lunar day, the sixth phase of the waning moon, which is related to kartikeya, shiva’s youngest son (& ganesha’s baby bro), who was a precocious general renowned for his victories. this tithi (lunar phase) supports us in giving ourselves a huge pat on the back (or, hey, opening a bottle of bubbly) to acknowledge & celebrate our awesomeness, our big & small victories.
monday is ruled by the moon, whose language is compassion & unconditional love. moon is the part of us that knows what we want to feel & so gives that feeling to others.
everyone you see, you say to them, “love me.”
of course you do not do this out loud, otherwise
someone would call the cops.
still, though, think about this, this great pull in us to connect.
why not become the one who lives with a
full moon in each eye that is always saying,
with that sweet moon language, what every other eye in
this world is dying to hear?
