it’s wednesday, february 21, & moon is in cancer, in the starspace called pushya. cancer vibrates with the frequency of unconditional love. which is a beautiful thing, but can also incline us to overgive, to forget that in order to give we have to be filled up so we have something to give—& to keep ourselves topped up so we don’t become totally depleted. “to love means to be there: to be there, first of all, for yourself, & for the wonders of life & the earth all around you,” said thich nhat hanh. “&, once you are truly present, you can offer that presence to those you love.” which is to say that taking care of ourselves is the best way to take care of others, that we have to put our own oxygen masks on before we put them on others.
pushya means “nourisher” & is ruled by brihaspati, the priest, aka guru, to the gods. this asterism brings a lesson about the connection between what we nourish & how we do so with the outcome, with what grows as a result. what do you want to create & how are you feeding it? hopefully with the kindness & compassion & high mindedness of the guru!
it’s the thirteenth lunar day (tithi), the thirteenth phase of the waxing moon, which, like pushya, is connected to the guru, bringer of wisdom. this tithi can accelerate our progress both spiritually & materially. the key is for us to be ready—too much too soon doesn’t usually go so well—for us to be aligned with our highest purpose.
wednesday is ruled by mercury, planet of discriminating intelligence & communication, which is the domain of journalism, of the press. julian assange, warrior for journalism & a free press, reminds us that “a nation can’t solve what the press won’t let it perceive.” we allegedly have a free press in the states, but is it really free when corporate interests control it through advertising &, for the most part, we get only the news that serves those interests? which means the government’s, b/c we all know by now that the government is pretty much a corporatocracy, right? what is the UK so afraid of that it has blocked the media from other countries from attending & reporting on julian’s extradition hearings right now, whose interests are at stake?
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
