it’s wednesday, september 13, & moon is in leo, in the starspace called magha. in the environment of leo, we are invited to consider our responsibilities & duties, whether we take them seriously or not, whether we perform them with grace & humility, not to mention whether we take on too much responsibility or too little, whether we might be overbearing in our sense of duty. with both retrograde saturn (planet of seriousness & hard work) & retrograde jupiter (planet of faith & inspiration) aspecting moon in leo (& leo’s ruler, sun, as well as mercury!), it’s a good time to reflect on the relationship between our hard work & inspiration in terms of achieving our goals, fulfilling our highest purpose.
magha means “great” or “mighty” & is ruled by the pitris, our ancestors, all those who came before us & did the work, bushwacked our path, so we could step fully into our greatness. those ancestors are def our biological ones, which, um, go as far back as the original humans, adam & eve, &, if ya wanna get crazy, all the way back to the beginning of all life. but they also include mentors & teachers & advisers, anyone who helped us be our unique selves, not anyone else.

it’s the fourteenth lunar day, which is the penultimate phase before the new moon, tomorrow, which is related to kali & supports us in tapping into our inner kali to release whatever we can in preparation for the new moon, to take no prisoners, cause goddess kali surely wouldn’t, to smack down fiercely with tough love.
wednesday is ruled by mercury, the part of us that is curious to know. “a little knowledge that acts is worth infinitely more than much knowledge that is idle,” said kahlil gibran. interestingly, the signs mercury, planet of facts, rules (gemini & virgo) are opposite the signs jupiter, planet of our beliefs, rules (sagittarius & pisces). so there is a constant dialogue (ohhh, mercury loves to chat!) going on between what we know to be true & what we believe, which informs how we show up in & engage with the world. are you using your knowledge productively, positively, or is it moldering away in the pantry?
