it’s wednesday, september 6, & moon is in taurus, in the starspace called rohini. taurus is where we want to be more than do, where we want to appreciate the fruits of all our doing—the place we live, the friends in our life—& it’s where moon is exalted, feels most comfortably moony; that is, emotionally stable, grounded. since moon is our consciousness, we feel emotionally grounded & stable while moon transits taurus & can be in the joy of the life we have created. what or whom can you in-joy today?
rohini is ruled by brahma, the creator of all that is, & so brings the energy of fertility. it also brings the potential for jealousy, b/c each of the 27 nakshatras were his wives (talk about polyamory!) but he liked rohini best & the other wives wouldn’t have it. if he spent all his time with rohini, we’d never have all the phases we do, so good thing that got worked out. meanwhile, feel the power of your fertility today, but beware of flaunting it, or of how it might trigger the wounds & insecurities of others.
it’s the eighth lunar day, the eighth phase of the waning moon, & b/c moon is in rohini it also happens to be krishna’s birthday! & i just happened to come across the following, written by a couple of her subjects, in joan didion’s essay “slouching toward bethlehem,” about her experience of haight-ashbury in the 60s:
“do you know who is the first eternal spaceman of this universe? / the first to send his wild wild vibrations / to all those cosmic superstations? / for the song he always shouts / sends the planets flipping out / but i’ll tell you before you think me loony / that i’m talking about narada muni … / singing hare krishna hare krishna krishna krishna hare hare, hare rama hare rama rama rama hare hare”
wednesday is ruled by mercury, seeker & speaker of the truth. “in a time of deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act,” said george orwell, who knew a thing or two about deceit, foresaw a “ministry of information.” these days, we’ve seen that information can be spun, is in the eye of the beholder, or, um, spinner (remember kellyanne conway’s “alternative facts”?), that mis- or disinformation is totally subjective & subversive, is used to label anything contrary to a particular agenda’s narrative.
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
